Highly recommended to any Beefheart fan.

The
first album, now with improved sound mastering and sleevenotes, and extra tunes
previously released on the now unavailable 'I May Be Hungry' CD.

The
legendary 'sabotaged' album. One of the most talked about controversies amongst
Beefheart fans - to phase or not to phase? Personally I think it sounds fantastic,
and it's nicely packaged too.
Beefheart's
most (in)famous album. You know all about it - just buy it now if you haven't
already got it.
Import
version available at a high price, but well worth every penny if you can't wait
for the eventual reissue, whenever that may arrive. This is simply the Magic Band's
greatest moment and is an essential album.
These
two albums showed the Captain attempting to make his music a little more accessible
to the record-buying public, while still featuring some startling material. Many
songs from this period became big live favourites, such as "Big Eyed Beans
From Venus", "Alice In Blunderland" and "Click Clack".
The two are well packaged together on a single CD with some nice artwork inside.

Beefheart's take on commerciality - naturally very different from anyone else's.
Personally I love it, though I'm pretty much alone on that.
Probably
for completists only. That isn't Mark Knopfler on guitar, but it may as well be.
Pointless.
A
shockingly tepid collection of Beefheart at his least inspired. This still has
some worthwhile moments, however. "Observatory Crest" and the title
track are beauties.
Jack
Nitzsche soundtrack, contains a cracking tune with a Beefheart vocal - "Hard
Workin' Man", also available on The Dust Blows Forward retrospective.
The
Original Bat Chain Puller's first widely-available release. The distributors claim
it's legit but then they would, wouldn't they? Personally I don't believe a word
of it.
A
harsher edge and some real punchy tunes lead to this receiving much critical acclaim
on its release; it has often praised as being his best since Lick My Decals Off
Baby.
A
new (bootleg) release featuring a good quality recording of a pretty mean Magic
Band show at the Rotters Club, Liverpool, UK on 29th October 1980.
The
last album. Pretty bleak stuff but, nevertheless, it's a classic.
A
compilation of music with snatches of spoken word pieces shoved between the tunes.
Not recommended.
A
compilation of material from Safe As Milk, Mirror Man, Strictly Personal and I
May Be Hungry. Not recommended - the original albums are much better.
An
excellent place for any enquiring mind to start out their Beefheart collection.
Also includes three hard to find tunes and excellent sleeve notes.
